It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it? Full of ups, downs, and all things in between.
Contrary to popular belief, I think 2016 has been very good year. However, I am looking forward to a fresh start and 2017 is looking very promising. Here’s a few things I did and will do at the start of the new year to set me up for a better tomorrow.
The morning routine For the past couple days, I’ve been instituting my own version of the Miracle Morning. Waking up at 5:30 (yes, AM), 6 mins of meditation, and a short yoga session helps me get my day off on the right foot.

Pamper myself To honor my physical body, I’ve taken more time to take care of me. From getting my bangs trimmed to a yoga class at my favorite studio to a luxurious bath with my favorite Lush bath products. A little pampering is a great way to show yourself love and compassion.
Clean and prep Of course, I have to do a few less luxurious things to get 2017 off on the right foot. Groceries, laundry, cleaning & straightening are just a few of the must-dos on my list.Today, I’m tackling a big project: going through the junk from under our bed.

Dance more My man got us tickets to see Sleater – Kinney on NYE and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to ring in the new year. Connecting with people I’m closest with, imbibing (just a little), and dancing around like a mad woman while Carrie and Corin sang me home.
There’s always a reason to celebrate and I’m making a mental note to dance much more in the new year!
