In Her Finery

I’ve been desperately searching for workwear inspiration with the perfect balance of professionalism, fashion, and quirk. London Finery is the answer to my prayers with their line of spunky chic work staples. Their surprisingly affordable dresses, separates, and accessories are perfect for Monday meetings over coffee and weekends with the boo thang!

Plaid Friday

Now that the tryptophan has worn off, it’s time to get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping! Instead of lining up in front of one of those big boxes at 5 in the morning only to push and shove your way through your gift list, have you thought about staying local?

The small business equivalent to “Black Friday” has officially been dubbed Plaid Friday. I try to make it my personal mission to buy all of my gifts from local shops. That way, I’m supporting the little guys and everyone on my list gets something unique and special!

To pay tribute to Plaid Friday, here are a few of my favorite plaid/tartan pieces to work into your wardrobe. Sadly, these are not from local shops. However, they are all under $200. Wear a little plaid today while you’re shopping your favorite, locally owned shops!

Peepin’ the Street: Fashion Week Spring/Summer ’13

First of all, YEAY! This is officially my 100th post on the blog! Wow! This little project of mine is sure coming along! Thank you all for following! I hope you’ve had as much fun reading as I have writing!

You may have noticed I’ve been a little quite recently. The past couple weeks have been a little draining, to say the least. Juggling a full time job, full time blogging, a social life, and working in a spin class every so often is nothing to sniff at. But fear not! I’m getting back in the blogging game and I have a TON of new posts coming up!

Anyway, back to the real reason you’re here: FAAAAAHSION! My favorite part about fashion week isn’t found on the runway. It’s in the streets! Here’s some of my ultimate favorite looks from the past few weeks (more to come, I’m sure!).

LFW: Giles

Two of my favorite things, film and fashion, collide in Giles’ Spring 2014 collection. Bat prints, full lips, and scenes from a film, of which I cannot identify, are printed and embroidered on beautiful, light fabrics. The dark meets the light combining water-color mints, purples, and flesh tone pinks with bat wing black. How playfully sinister!
